I’ve decided to use this place as more than just a way to stalk follow other people. So, I’m going to start posting rants here. Mostly about GX, because I like to rant about GX. Maybe a few rambles about the canon itself but more than likely, this will mostly be about things I see in the fandom that get under my skin. I will try not to name any given fanfic, but just…trends/concepts/things/etc. that irk me.

Starting off with my top three:

#3: Misawa is a jerk. Deal with it. He’s a nice, polite jerk, but he’s a jerk all the same, at least until he spends time being Desert Warrior Misawa and actually learns to give a damn about other people as people and not just tools to worship and adore him while he stands back breathing oxygen. His idea of “supporting” the Red dorm while Juudai was away in season two was more or less “Yeah, I totally support you guys.” Nodding sagely and doing nothing. (To be perfectly honest, I didn’t see Fubuki doing much either but he didn’t whine and complain about how no one paid attention to him either. Mostly because everyone pays attention to Fubuki. When he’s around.)

In conclusion, Misawa=jerk who needed to grow as a character. Misawa /= saintly angel that everyone ignored when they should’ve been falling to their knees in worship of his manly awesomeness.

Rant 3.5: Amon Garam, on the other hand, is just a jerk. Freely and of his own will. He kills people that he loves. On purpose. With intent. He is not a nice person and does not want to be a nice person. He went out of his way to become a very *evil* person.

#2: Chosaku and Shouji are not fire-breathing demons of evil whose one goal in life is to destroy Manjoume Jun, assault him in any way, or in any way do anything like that. Given that the last thing we saw them saying in relation to him was “He’s grown up more than we thought”, I’d call that grounds to believe they reconciled off-screen and at the very least they left him alone after that. Since, you know, they did. And they were also shown being worried about their cards, which is in general an indicator that someone isn’ta jackass.

#1: Marufuji Ryou is not trapped in a wheelchair or with poor health his entire life. Ayukawa-sensei said if he took care of himself (which he is a bit loathe to do, I admit, but Shou could probably talk him into it, and he did seem to wantto do it) then he would recover fully. He intends to build a new Pro League name for himself (my personal opinion is that Hell Kaiser is the best way to describe him no matter what and I can’t honestly think of one that would describe him better, but that doesn’t mean he can’t build himself a new career, which is what he wanted to do). He and Shou are going to do it together. Whether this means a whole new League or just a new pro career doesn’t matter. The point is, Ryou is not bound to that wheelchair and is going to improve in health. This is a point I wish the canon had brought up by showing him at the graduation ceremony, preferably with Fujiwara (God, Fujiwara’s reaction to the black leather of Hell Kaiser…ooops, sorry, my fangirl is showing). Ahem. With Fujiwara and in the black outfit (which genuinely looks awesome on him) and not in the wheelchair. Maybe more people would realize that he’s not permanently crippled then.

Probably not. But I can dream.
